Even though I will be affected by the layoff, I will still be a dedicated union member and committee person. I will work hard for our membership. I have asked George and the HR department; to make sure, the CSC is involved with the non profit organizations, that will be helping during the lay off. When the last layoff occurred, I had just became Chair of the CSC and It was all so over whelming. We were not receiving any info from the laid of members and didn't know how to help. Our Committee is a strong committee and we will bond together; to make sure through this layoff, that we supply the laid off members with as much support as possible. The membership has the responsibility of asking when they need help. We can be more sufficient 1 person or (family) at a time, then to figure out how to help 1400 people at once. I do a lot of research to be able to supply info to the membership. If we can't physically help, I will do my best to find someone who can. Please Don't wait until you are about to loose everything. There are organizations that will help ,but if you wait until you have ruined your credit and you are behind months on your payments. Some organizations will not help if you have bad credit. So please ask before it's to late. The quickest way to get immediate information; on services that can help, is by dialing 211 from your land line phone and 1-888-892-1162 from your cell phone. If anyone has any information; on services that may benefit our members, please email me at comservchr@aol.com. Together we can get through this together.
